Agilent Technologies
United States
Agilent Technologies is a leading measurement company headquartered in California. Agilent has a company-wide environmental management system that is certified to ISO 14001 and it monitors its raw materials use and content through a Supplier Environmental and Social Responsibility Code of Conduct. Products are designed to minimize energy and resource use, while promoting recycling or reuse. Product stewardship teams in each business unit seek ways to improve resource use in product design and manufacturing. Agilent offers a "Purchase Alternative" initiative that allows customers to lease equipment or purchase a refurbished model. Agilent's product take-back program varies greatly from country to country and could benefit from standardization and an increased focus on producer responsibility. Other areas for improvement include developing a strategic focus on the competitive advantages associated with sustainability initiatives and increasing the transparency of environmental goals in operations and product design.
