Acciona is a diversified company operating in construction, transportation, and power generation. The company's President, Jose Manuel Entrecanales, notes "sustainable development and social well-being are . . . key features of [Acciona's] business strategy." Acciona's primary strengths are in renewable energy, environmental services, waste treatment, and sea transport. The company's construction and infrastructure subsidiary works on projects such as high-speed railways, schools, and power facilities. Acciona reports that it proposed environmental improvements on more than half of its projects in each of the last several years, and that it works to educate clients on options with environmental benefits.
